I love the rooms at the Roger Sherman Inn. The deluxe rooms are fantastic. It's one of the only places I can have a good night's sleep Breakfast is included cooked to perfection by a world renowned French chef it's delightful and delicious Although the main house has the most beautifully decorated and architecturally interesting rooms, I prefer the Carriage House rooms in the back of the Inn with private entries and wrap around decks as large as the rooms. Have your breakfast outside on your own private patio. The views are of beautiful serene wooded land and of Oenoke Ridge one of the most scenic and historic roads in the United States walking distance from New York.The service is perfection you can have anything you want at The Roger Sherman Inn. Dinner reservations are a must for this excellent and highly rated restaurant. The prices are high for lunch and dinner but the Inn has an economical Sunday brunch. Go then it's some of the most delicious food I have ever tasted. Try their salads with home grown vegetables and their homemade breads. Rack of lamb is an excellent entree as is the lobster soup. Everything is priced per dish and appetizers aren't included although they're magnificent. I love the clams and cherries before dinner. Something for everyone it's a French restaurant with a difference with world famous chefs. You will leave happy with a smile on your face in this 5 star Inn located in one of the most beautiful small towns in the United States walking distance to town. Take a leisurely walk on one of many wooded trails in the quiet peaceful surroundings. Reserve early to avoid disappointment. I'm going back I absolutely loved it :)

It is like staying at a country club, I love that! Live music at bar, not too loud, just right. Nicely decorated room, friendly staff. Doing some renovations but not any problem at all. I like to see renovations, it means things can only get better.
My girlfriend and I were just travelling through connecticut and stumbled upon New Canaan. What a cute little town. We stayed the night here and it was really nice. Exactly what we were looking for in a small town- old historic inn with good customer service and great surroundings. Things are a bit rustic, but that seems to be it's charm. i'd like to try this place in colder weather. We love new Canaan!
Would never stay here again. Woke up to no hot water in the entire building - had to shower in a back building. Hairdryer also broke. The inn only provided a 10% discount for all of this...should have been a full refund. One of their excuses is that they upgraded my room on check in. Not something I asked for and thus it can't be a perk or an excuse.
