Quickly become a steady and reliable restaurant. I agree with those who say it's pricey; it is pricey; but the quality is so high it's worth it. That said, when the two primary owners are not there, the quality can sometimes be off. I've seen that more than once so they really need to have a system in place so that the place runs when they're not around. But that's very rare. I've gone here a ton and nine times out of time have loved it as have those I've gone with.

New Canaan is sooo lucky to have this gem of a restaurant tucked away down the alley serving the best breakfast, lunch and dinners in all of Fairfield County!!! Unpretentious delicious food constantly with owners and servers that make you always feel welcome!!

I wrote the following review after a lesser than nice experience HOWEVER, the owner did call me right away the next morning and was immensely apologetic for our lesser than desired evening. Mistakes happen in the service world but when quickly cured, that becomes the real reflection of a business. So I am moving my rating from a 1 star to a 5 star given such a quick and genuine response from the owner. (Previously posted).....Fabulous food but extremely poor management style. Having reserved a table for four in advance, ordered appetizers, main course and dessert, the check was delivered (which was not inexpensive but food was well worth it) at the same time waiter served dessert. And then, the manager asked us to vacate table within minutes of coffee being served so they can turn the table to another party. Why did they even offer up the dessert menu if they needed to turn the table?? Being in the business of serving customers as a business owner myself, I'd suggest Baldanza Cafe clearly has a management issue or lack of customer service etiquette or expertise. From my point of view, when your table has just spent significant dollars with your establishment in under 2 hours, one must ask.....who made that decision to ask us to vacate the table. Too bad we will not be revisiting. Will be interesting if the owner calls me to discuss - I left my phone number.

Food and service was great. The two stars is for the pricing. We had a breakfast and ordered a single side egg scrambled (no frills). Shocked to see we were charged $6 for that single egg. A small breakfast for two with coffee cost $44. Good food but expensive.

Great food and juice bar. Can be slow during peak hours. Very friendly staff
